Amalfi Coast Motorcycle Tour: From Brindisi to Furore

In April 2024 we rode from Brindisi to the Amalfi Coast on a BMW GS 1250 Adventure: narrow bends, lemon trees and the steep steps down to Fiordo di Furore.

Is it possible to enjoy a motorcycle on a coastal road and the scent of lemon blossom at the same time? In Amalfi it is. This was the most memorable stop of our Italy trip in April 2024 on a BMW GS 1250 Adventure.

How did the trip start?

We left Istanbul and crossed to Italy via Igoumenitsa. It was only meant to be a Puglia trip, but we wanted to add Amalfi, which we had visited in earlier years. The route covered Istanbul, Amalfi and the Puglia region over seven nights and eight days. The first day was entirely a road day, from Greece to Italy, and the second day was also on the road, in a route among nature.

What do you see from Brindisi to Amalfi?

Villages, mountains, wind turbines, vineyards, olive trees and grazing animals, with a pleasant breeze and a sun that warms without tiring. It is a route that deserves a long journey.

What is the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline in southern Italy on the Tyrrhenian Sea, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is made up of many towns, the most popular being Amalfi and Positano. According to legend, Hercules built Amalfi so that his beloved, the nymph Amalfi, could sleep her eternal sleep in the most beautiful place in the world. Riding it was perfect: narrow winding roads, deep blue sea, hills with high views, colourful houses, and lemon and orange trees everywhere.

What about Fiordo di Furore?

It is one of the famous beaches on the Amalfi coast, reached by going down narrow, steep steps. The view of the cliff-framed, deep blue Tyrrhenian Sea is worth it.

For the road, Rider Healthcare and Galata Healthcare products suit long riding days, and Educated Moto Riders offers motorcycle tours and advanced and safe riding training.
