What can you do when you go to Hellas Rally without racing? I asked myself that too. My answer was an eight-day Greek holiday in Pefki.
What does someone do while a partner races?
Rally raid usually makes you think of the racer, yet the person who sets out beside a racer has a story too. Mine is this: in May 2026, throughout Hellas Rally, I had a Greek holiday while Doruk raced. The words “race” and “holiday” rarely sit in one sentence, but in our story they did.
Where was it and what does Pefki mean?
I tagged the reel “Pefki, Greece”. In Greek, “pefki” means pine tree. I spent these eight days there, but I do not write the details here, because they are all in the reel. Telling a holiday that lives in pictures with lines of text would do it an injustice.
How did Doruk’s race end?
Doruk completed Hellas Rally Raid 2026 with race number 29 on a Husqvarna 701 and finished third in the FIM 4 class. You can read his side of the story in our Hellas Rally 2026 post. This page is my side.
Why tell it through my eyes?
We travel as a couple. Doruk’s side is usually motorcycles, racing and the road, and mine is another face of the same route. Put side by side, they show both the speed and the calm of a race week. If you attend a rally or a motorcycle event, it helps to think about your own plan for the race days in advance, which makes room for both the racer and yourself.
