How many hours does it take to ride around an island? In Thassos we made do with 24, and we circled the whole island from end to end.
How did we get to Thassos?
This stop is part of our wider Greece motorcycle trip. On our BMW R 1250 GS Adventure we boarded a ferry in Alexandroupoli, known in Turkish as Dedeağaç, and crossed to Thassos. We spent the night in the city beforehand and passed time there until the ferry, then rode onto the boat.
What is Thassos known for?
Thassos is an island in the northern Aegean, known for its green nature, olive groves and white marble. Its main port town, Limenas, holds ancient remains. In 24 hours we completed the circuit of the island, and the whole tour is in part 3 of our YouTube series.
What came after Thassos?
Leaving the island, we had a long road ahead of us. Part 4 of the series follows the whole day on the road to a camp site we had chosen in advance, Interstation camping in Stylida. We also made videos for this trip, which took serious effort, but we are happy with how far we have come.
